I always love adventures during storms. There is something so comforting about the rain, wind and cold. So yesterday, I put on my rain jacket and rain pants and drove a few miles to Arasstradero Perserve with my dog to take a hike and spotted this beautiful rainbow.
The Arastradero Preserve protects the Arastradero Creek watershed and offers 10.25 miles (16.5 Km) of trails. It also holds an abundance of wildlife. I didn’t bring my big camera due to the weather conditions, but I have seen deer, coyotes and a variety of bird species here. Mountain lions also inhabit this area, although they are never spotted by hikers, although are repeatedly seen on the preserves night cameras. Dogs, bikes, and horses are allowed on the trails and all three modes are incredibly fun 🙂 Below are the tracks I found, but after doing some research….they’re just dog tracks. Oh well, maybe I’ll find that mountain lion next time.
The preserve is located at 1530 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, so take a day and check it out! It’s definitely worth it. And points if you spot a mountain lion. ~B
